Started a carpentry class at the women's carpentry Started a carpentry class at the women's carpentry collective this evening! A Bristol highlight, and the first time in a long time I've been a total beginner at something and pretty bad at it so far (though everyone is to start and I just need to remember the marking tool really is my friend)
Visited the impossibly beautiful @belvillecommunit Visited the impossibly beautiful @belvillecommunitygarden today with its views, scent of herbs and fruit, memories built with love into the raised beds and written across benches, welcoming spaces for everyone...wishing we'd done a selfie really, maybe over their delicious community lunch which involved ghost stories and the splendours of a three course meal 🥰

Found it so hard to think/write/be while an academ Found it so hard to think/write/be while an academic, but I miss my old SHUSU, anti-poverty taskforce and welfare-at-a-social-distance colleagues! Amazing to have the collaborations that meant so much captured in paper & ink
& two chapters of this powerful edited collection that I can hold in my hands

Birthday started with bacon and egg bagels, went o Birthday started with bacon and egg bagels, went on to presents of books for/ about our new home, blog about the first cat to attempt an atlantic crossing by airship, train listening of the Messiah, Whispering Truth writing, mark spotting a young fox in a field, an ancient empty town grown up through the bones of an abbey and an incredible pub Persian lunch with pint of Aspalls, Godminster cheddar cheese tasting, a long walk past gangs of lambs gamboling and between ancient coppicing, donuts atop Creech hill once site of a Romano-Celtic temple and views out across traces of an even older hill fort towards Glastonbury Tor. Love from friends and family around the world. I am feeling very blessed today as the sun sets outside the train windows. Even if I failed to make that cake.
