(FILES) A picture taken in Fort-de-France on 2003 shows French poet Aime Cesaire, an energetic promoter of black cultural identity. Cesaire, 94, died on April 17, 2008 in the Caribbean island of Martinique, a government source said. Cesaire died in hospital in Fort-de-France where he had been admitted on April 9.
